1. Introduction

I am pleased to introduce my new project: a children’s picture book called Charlie the Champion.

Charlie is a lovable young cheetah who dreams of becoming a champion. Through his journey, he learns the importance of determination, perseverance, and never giving up on himself.

2. Why I Wrote Charlie The Champion

I wrote the book, Charlie The Champion, because I wanted to share an inspiring story with children. I wanted to illustrate to young readers how they can achieve success no matter what obstacles they face. It is important to encourage children to think big and never stop believing in their dreams.

For close to two decades, I’ve had the privilege of helping guide young people from diverse backgrounds. Through my work, I learned that books have tremendous potential for inspiring children. Fueled by this belief, I decided to write a book of my own—one that would leave readers of all ages with a positive impression and lasting impact.

Charlie, the cheetah, was carefully chosen as the main character due to his innate ability to inspire viewers and connect with them. Through his story arc, we witness him recognizing and embracing what sets him apart from others while also facing fears of ridicule and doubt. Charlie conveys a meaningful lesson about learning to overcome obstacles in pursuit of one’s passions; a powerful message that is relevant for readers of any age.

I am confident this story will touch the hearts of young readers and motivate them to never stop striving for success.

3. The Importance of Teaching Kids About Positive Encouragement and Hard Work

I believe that it is important to teach children about positive encouragement and hard work through my book, Charlie The Champion. Charlie faces many challenges throughout the story, and his perseverance, his pursuit of positive self-talk, determination and hard work are rewarded in the end. I want this book to encourage children to use positive words and energy to continue to work hard to realize their dreams.

Most of us have heard the phrase “look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself you can do it.” This type of positive self-talk is so important, and I want children to know the power of these words and how they can help them achieve success. Self-belief and hard work go hand in hand, and I want children to understand this through Charlie The Champion.

I believe it is crucial to teach children that hard work and dedication are necessary to reach our goals in life. I want them to understand that they should never give up and that no matter what challenges they face, they should strive to be the best versions of themselves. Furthermore, if they encounter any setbacks, they should not see it as a failure, but rather as a learning opportunity. With enough hard work, anything is possible.

Charlie the Champion is an inspirational tale of Charlie the chubby cheetah, who wants nothing more than to be strong like his dad and compete in big races. With a big round belly, Charlie doesn’t feel like he could ever do something so great. Being a chubby cheetah is harder than you think. After being bullied by his classmates, Charlie finally decides that he will not be scared to do what he loves anymore. In the face of fear, Charlie finally unlocks his hidden extraordinary potential through the power of hard, consistent work and positive self-talk. 

The book provides gentle, heartwarming lessons about the importance of setting goals and working hard, no matter how daunting the odds may seem. Its inspiring message encourages kids to look beyond their current circumstances and think of the possibilities that bigger goals can bring.

5. Bringing Charlie To Life

Bringing Charlie The Champion to life required quite a bit of creativity and effort. After creating the story, I worked with an amazing illustrator who helped me create a visual presentation of Charlie and his journey.

We collaborated extensively to make sure that the art complemented the text in a way that felt appropriate. For instance, we experimented with various techniques to capture the joy, fear, and determination Charlie experiences throughout the story.

Our main goal was to create a rich, inviting world that could transport readers of all ages directly into the story.

Finally, we strived to create illustrations that were up to modern standards. We used the latest tools and techniques, such as using colored pencils and digital painting, to bring Charlie’s world to life in a vibrant, eye-catching way.

The result is an enchanting and visually appealing story, with rich, inviting artwork that captures the essence of Charlie’s journey. The story and the art together provide young readers with an unforgettable experience.
